The Newport Wedding Band
We thought you might enjoy a little of the history of this
classically styled wedding band, available exclusively from e- wedding
bands.
Several years ago one of our favorite sales associates named Kelley
was trying to design the perfect wedding band for her fiance. After drawing
many different styles and possibilities, she hit upon this design. Working
from her drawings, we made several prototypes before finding the perfect
balance
of asthetics, practicality, and durability.
The Newport band is actually made from two seamless bands which are
permanently joined together to form a single, comfort-fit band. Unlike
other styles where a pattern is added to the surface of the ring and may
wear off quickly, this two-band construction ensures that the design will
last a long time and allows the flexibility of different metal and color
combinations. Each Newport band is made from precision machined parts that
are assembled and finished by hand specifically for your requested width and
finger size. Widths vary slightly because of the hand finishing, so a 7mm Newport
may actually finish out between 6.6mm and 7.0mm wide, etc. Kelley's
original design was 7mm wide
and 14K White Gold. The center section was brushed for increased contrast,
and that is still our favorite texture option!
We continued to improve and tweak the design, and are now pleased to
offer it in many of the metal combinations shown here on the site, plus in
4mm
through 8mm widths, with wider widths (up to 12mm) available as special
orders.
Kelley is now happily married and living in Newport Beach,
California. We named the ring after the city where she lives.
